Heather YurkoChief of Staff, Employee Services and Lead, Future of Work
Heather Yurko has been building people, process and organizations for over 20 years. She has worked in multiple industries including IT, finance and arts + entertainment as a consultant. Throughout her T-shaped career, she has gathered experience in Manufacturing, Program Management, Software Development, Training Design, Sales, Marketing, and Communications. Heather built two start-up companies (one creating and showcasing designer toys, one creating financial modeling software) in addition to working in large, global enterprises like Dun + Bradstreet, Lucent Technologies, Paine Webber and Cisco.
She and her teams have won multiple industry awards over the years, including Pega’s Program Success Award (2016), Oracle’s Chief Sustainability Officer of the Year (2015), Best Six Sigma Activity (2015), Gartner BPM Excellence Award (2014), NC Tech Awards: Use of Technology-Business Value (2014), Connections Leadership Award (2012) and the ERE: Retention Award (2011). She has been a featured speaker for the Center for Innovation Management Studies Symposium, Innovation in RTP, Cisco Live, the Hawaii International Conference on Systems Sciences, and the Higher Education Advisory Council.
As 12-year Cisco veteran and the Senior Manager for the Global Services Logistics + Operations IT software development team, she led the team's transformation into Digitization and DevOps-based Agile Delivery. She is current planning for the Future of Work in Employee Services, and acting as Vice-President for the International Society for Services Innovation Professionals. Heather holds an MA in Organizational Psychology from Columbia University-Teachers College. Outside of her day job, she can be found enjoying nature with her family, and serving on the board of the South Durham Farmers Market.
